Private Pilates Sessions in Maple Grove

Customized Pilates training to meet your wellness goals.

What to Expect in Your JLB Pilates Private Sessions

Most of our clients start with private Pilates sessions to build foundational skills and learn the language of Pilates. Our first session will focus on discussing your goals, current health, and completing a movement screening. With this information, our instructors will put together a custom plan designed just for you.

If you are looking to enhance your personal Pilates practice to improve your overall health, strength, flexibility, and endurance, we encourage you to start your Pilates journey with at least eight private sessions. These sessions can be 30 or 55 minutes long and will be tailored to your goals and skill level. During each session, you’ll work one-on-one with an instructor to learn how to move your body efficiently and safely as you build strength and flexibility.

Once your first eight sessions are complete, you and your instructor will discuss whether you’d like to continue private sessions or move into a small group class. Many of our clients choose to continue with periodic private sessions once they start attending group classes.

The JLB Pilates Movement Screening

Our initial movement screening is a vitally important step in your Pilates journey. In this private session, we’ll discuss your current health, your wellness goals, and complete a movement assessment to determine your starting point. Please be prepared to discuss the following questions with your instructor.

  • What do you do for a living?
  • How many hours per day do you spend sitting?
  • Do you play or have you played sports?
  • How much water do you drink per day?
  • Do you follow a specific dietary plan?
  • Do you smoke?
  • Have you ever experienced a sprain or broken a bone?
  • Have you ever been in a car accident?
  • Have you ever fallen and injured yourself?
  • What are three goals you’re working toward?
  • How did you hear about us?
  • Do you have any pre-existing conditions?
  • What is your current fitness routine?
